Caleb Inkster's Reflection

Caleb was absent for the time in which he had to post his reflection

Group work, Sebastian Cullum's view

Each individual needs to reflect on how the group worked and state 2 ways in which group worked well and 2 ways in which the group did not work well together.

We worked together well because we are good friends and understand one another making it easier when working with teamwork. We also work together well because we all have creative and innovative ideas that contribute to the design of the window farm.

We don’t work well together because some partners have been absent and on holiday for long periods of time leaving one person to do all the work by himself. We also have a lack of commitment in the group sometime so we have missed some due dates for handing in work and also not gotten good marks because all of the work would sometimes get piled on one person.

Sebastian Cullum's Reflection

·      Design and building of the window farms and any modifications that have been made before and after the holidays.

The design of our window farm, I must say, was very good. We made a slight modification before the holidays by putting separate reservoir that holds the water that is pumped through the pipe. We also attached a valve at the end of the water pipe so that we could control the flow of water going through the pipe so that we could leave the pump on so that there was a constant flow of water.

·      Choice of plants and growth of plants in window farm – did you make the right choices? Did everything grow? Any problems with pests? Explain these and other factors and how they affected the growth of the plants.

Our two pepper plants have grown to their fullest and are producing new flowers as we have picked all of our peppers. Our mint plant had taken some bugs in but still grows, after a certain part of the plant had died, more and more.

·      What influences have we (humans) had on the window farms?  Describe these.

We have influenced the window farm and the plants by giving it the sufficient and correct amount of water that it needs to survive. We have also positioned the window farm into the sun letting it grow·

What additional information do you know now about window farms that may have helped you in the beginning of the project?

We would have liked to know that you should use plants that are already fully grown so that it does not take so long for the plants to grow and produce.
